My brother's room
a Staged Reading
Carson is an average kid with his whole life seemingly planned out for him. It’s not until his big brother Bobby shows up in the middle of the night, a decade after running away, that he sees a new path. Bobby’s life is great, he gets to do whatever he wants, see the world, rebel against society— all the things Carson can only dream of. So why can’t he tell mom?

About Us
Long ago, amongst the redwood trees of Northern California, the founders of One Room Theatre met on and around the stage; however, this didn’t happen all at the same time. Each of us were a part of the UC Santa Cruz theatre arts program, spanning across three different grade levels, and to this day, despite literally forming a theatre company, we have never truly acted in the same show together. By some odd twist of fate, the stars never aligned - Angus and Will dueled in Macbeth, Angus and Abi sang their hearts out in The Artificial Woman, Angus and Luka explored the underworld in both Am Duat: The 12 Hours of Rah and Eurydice, and Abi, Will, and Luka slayed (both literally and figuratively) in She Kills Monsters. Yet never, NEVER, have we all shared the stage together. After 4 years of friendship, and a quick move across the state we finally decided: that simply will not do.
Across the table at a bar in LA (as all good business decisions are made) Angus and Will cooked up an idea. Sick and tired of the lack of opportunity, our creative muscles being atrophied by the second, we resolved to write a full play, and put in on for all to see. And while we we’re at it, we figured we might as well start a theatre company too! Why wait for those stars to align when we could reach up and align them ourselves? Now here we are! Not only sharing the stage with each other, but with you. All in One Room. A room that encapsulates years of friendship and love.
